The Challenge: Navigating Multiple Levels
A two-floor installation requires absolute precision in measurement to ensure the "winding" steps provide a comfortable and safe walking line. The client wanted a design that felt substantial but didn't darken the hallway, requiring a careful balance of materials.

Our Joinery Solution
For this Nottinghamshire staircase renovation, we opted for a material contrast that is both timeless and contemporary.

Natural Pine Construction: We used high-quality Pine for the treads and strings. Pine offers incredible structural integrity and a warm, natural grain that brightens the transit areas between floors.

Modern Metal Spindles: To break up the timber and add a touch of modern sophistication, we installed slimline metal spindles. This choice "opens up" the staircase visually, allowing light to flow through the balustrade.

Winder Design: The winder configuration allowed us to navigate the 90-degree turns between floors efficiently, maximizing the available floor space on each landing.
