At Trentside Joinery, we believe that the best furniture doesn’t just sit in a room—it belongs to the architecture. Our latest project in Nottingham is a perfect example of this philosophy: a seamless integration of a bespoke fitted wardrobe and a contemporary slatted wood feature wall.
Phase 1: The Structural Foundation
Every high-end installation starts with a rock-solid frame. We began by constructing a custom floor-to-ceiling timber carcass. Unlike "off-the-shelf" flatpack furniture, bespoke joinery allows us to scribe every panel perfectly to the walls and ceiling, eliminating ugly gaps and maximizing every inch of storage.
Phase 2: Internal Precision
A wardrobe is only as good as its organization. We worked closely with the client to design an internal layout featuring:
Custom shelving for specific storage needs.
Integrated LED lighting for a premium boutique feel.
Reinforced hanging rails for long-term durability.
Phase 3: The Art of the Slat
The standout element of this build is the vertical slatted wood feature. Slatted walls (or acoustic timber panels) are a major trend in 2026 for their ability to add warmth and "biophilic" texture to a bedroom. We precision-cut each oak slat, ensuring perfectly even spacing for that sharp, architectural 3D effect.
The Final Result
By combining the storage of a wardrobe with the visual impact of a feature wall, we transformed a standard bedroom into a luxury suite. The minimalist, handleless design of the wardrobe doors ensures the focus remains on the beautiful natural wood grain of the slats.
